For Adoptive Families: Roots of China 2026
This is a heartfelt journey back to their origins for the children who left their hometowns behind. They once bid farewell to their native roots and started a new life with their adoptive families, who opened the door to a world of opportunities for them—and this journey is one of them: returning to the province of their birth to explore that indispensable part of their past. This past now belongs to every adoptive family, etched into indelible memories and accompanying them forever.
Day 1. Beijing
Arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport.
Transfer to the hotel for check-in, with free time to relax or wander around the city center on your own afterwards.
Day 2. Beijing
Buffet breakfast.
Today we’ll visit Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square and the site of numerous political and historical events. We’ll walk across the square and visit the Forbidden City, the largest, most complete and ancient imperial palace in China. It served as the imperial residence for emperors from the early 15th century until 1911.
In the afternoon, we’ll take a pleasant stroll through the exquisite gardens of the Summer Palace (boat ride included). Located around 12 km from downtown Beijing, it was originally built as an exclusive retreat for the emperor and his family.

Day 3. Beijing
Buffet breakfast.
In the morning, we’ll visit the Great Wall, specifically the Mutianyu section, with a cable car ride for both the ascent and descent. (Highly recommended for the more adventurous: take the chairlift up and glide down the incredible Great Wall toboggan.)
On the way back in the afternoon, we’ll stop at the Olympic Stadium area (the Bird’s Nest) to take some photos with the stadium as a backdrop.
Day 4. Beijing → Xi’an (High-Speed Train)
Buffet breakfast.
Today we’ll head to the Temple of Heaven, a magnificent site where the Ming dynasty emperors offered sacrificial rituals to pray for bountiful harvests. There, a revered tai chi master will join us to teach a simple introductory class to this ancient millenary art.
In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Xi’an by high-speed train. The distance between Beijing and Xi’an is 1,100 kilometers, with a journey time of approximately 4 hours. Xi’an, an ancient capital of China with a 3,000-year history, is the country’s only walled imperial capital. It was also the starting point of the famous Silk Road.

Day 5. Xi’an → Guilin (Flight)
Buffet breakfast.
In the morning, we’ll visit the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (45 km from the city, a 1-hour drive) and explore one of the world’s most important archaeological discoveries.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Muslim Quarter and visit the Great Mosque. Wander through the alleyways of this legendary market quarter, where you can haggle, shop and taste the local Muslim-influenced delicacies—this area is lined with stalls and street food vendors. You’ll also get to experience the local way of life here.
Finally, we’ll transfer to the airport for our flight to Guilin, followed by a transfer to the hotel for rest.

Day 6. Guilin → Longsheng

Today we’ll explore the stunning Longji Rice Terraces (90 km from Guilin, a 1.5-hour drive). Rice terraces are mountain slopes that have been cultivated for centuries. This area is home to four major ethnic groups: the Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong. The Dong people, in particular, build wooden houses (sometimes using almost no nails at all), and the women wear traditional ethnic costumes. They love to wear hats and aprons decorated with a variety of unique handcrafted ornaments.

Hence, he named it Yu Garden (Yu means health and tranquility).
